In October 2023, the Dutch yacht market saw the introduction of 17 new yachts for sale, consisting of 14 motor yachts and 3 sailing yachts.
The highest priced and largest Dutch-built yacht amongst the new listings is the 59m my OMNIA built by Damen Yachting and asking €23.000.000.
On the other end of the spectrum, the 24m Kempers motor yacht ESMERALDA was the least expensive new listing with an asking price of €395.000. She re-entered the market 6 months after being withdrawn from sale in April this year. When she was withdrawn, she had been offered for sale for 679 days. The shortest addition was the Moonen Yachts my BONTEKOE II with 19.6m, and an asking price of €995.000.
The shipyard with the most new listings this month was once again Feadship, along with Moonen Yachts and Heesen with 3 of their yachts newly listed for sale.
From the 16 Dutch-built yachts that came to the market in October, 5 yachts had a length between 18 and 24 meters, 5 yachts between 24 and 30 meters, another 6 yachts between 30 and 50 meters, and 1 yachts larger than 50 meters.
When we compare this month to last month’s numbers, we see a decrease of 37% in the number of new listings.
In October 2023, a total of 5 Dutch-built yachts were sold, all motor yachts. Compared to September we see a decrease of 16,7% in the amount of sales.
One of the largest yachts sold this month was the 39.72 meter Feadship my CETACEA. She was sold after 527 days on the market with an asking price of $8.490.000, which stayed the same throughout the whole sales period.
The least expensive yacht sold was the 18.3 meter Pacific Shipyards my JONA’S, which had a final asking price of €695.000 and was on the market for 291 days. During that period she has received no price reductions.
On average, the yachts sold in October 2023 were on the market for 500 days. The longest sale of last month was the 29.3 meter Bloemsma & Van Breemen Doggersbank my GAYLE FORCE. She was on the market for 863 days, over 2 years, with a final asking price of $4.750.000. During that period she has received 9 price reductions and her final asking price was 51.4% of its original asking price of $9.250.000.
The Dutch-built yachts market received a total of €69.021.936 in sales last month. The yachts still had a value of 90.2% of their first asking price.
There are 2 yachts under offer this month, both motor yachts.
The smallest yacht under offer is the 19.5m Pacific Shipyards my GOUDEN LEEUW. The yacht has been offered for sale since July 2021 and had a last asking price of €595.000. She has received 1 price reduction and her final asking price was 85.6% of her initial asking price of €695.000.
The other, slightly larger, yacht currently under offer is the 19.95m Scheepsreparatie Friesland (SRF) my PHOENICIAN. PHOENICIAN has been on the market since July 2023, with an asking price of €950.000.
In October 2023 there were 3 yachts withdrawn from the market, 1 motor yacht and 2 sailing yachts.
The yacht that had been available for the longest period was the 35.4 meter my ALHAMBRA built by Feadship. ALHAMBRA was listed for sale since August 2022 with an asking price of €5.500.000. She was on the market for 410 days, a little more than a year.
On the first of November, the Dutch-built yacht market boasts 319 vessels for sale, of which 236 motor yachts and 84 sailing yachts.
Out of 1160 Dutch-built motor yachts over 18m in our database, 20.4% are currently offered for sale, and out of 413 sailing yachts, 20.3% are currently available for purchase.
Presently one of the largest sailing yachts available for purchase is the 58.15m Royal Huisman Shipyard NGONI. NGONI’s asking price is available on request and she has been listed for sale on the January 30th of this year.
One of the largest motor yachts available on the market is the 86 meter Scheepswerf Gebr. Van der Werf my CHAKRA. This vessel has been for sale for 2609 days with an asking price on request.
At the other end of the spectrum, one of the smallest available yachts is the 18 meter my OYSTER, built by Mulder Shipyard. OYSTER is currently being offered with an asking price of €1.395.000 and has been listed for sale since July 2023.
Compared to the previous month, we can see decrease in the number of new listings and sold yachts. As was projected last month, the increase in new listings due to the yacht shows has stabilized. Since May this year we see a decline in the amount of sales. On the other hand, the amount of yachts offered for sale have been steadily increasing since April. As a result, yachts that have been on the market longer are receiving price reductions to stay competitive with the new supply of yachts entering the market.
