Short description of the yacht
Holland Jachtbouw’s 28-metre sailing yacht Whirlwind, was launched in 1998 after a design by Andre Hoek. She is a voluminous yacht with a wide beam, medium displacement and moderate draft. She’s a true oceangoing sloop with a proven global circumnavigation history.
She offers a spacious interior with upper and lower saloons, a large galley, a good engine room. She has room for eight guests in three cabins; an owners cabin, and two double guest cabins. On top of that she offers very good crew accommodations forward for four with dinette. The cockpit area is well protected by the imposing deckhouse. She is rigged as a cutter with a fairly tall mast and 410 m2 of sail area.
The yacht was nominated for the 1998 International Superyacht Design Award, and has benefitted from numerous refit and maintenance appointments.
