In 1975, Lex Tichellaar followed his passion and established a company specializing in the refit and renovation of old vessels, driven by his mission to preserve vintage vessels for future generations. Starting from a working vessel in Leeuwarden, Lex understood the importance of convincing clients with reasonable prices, timely completion, and his extensive knowledge and experience.

Almost fifty years later, Scheepsreparatie Friesland BV, now led by six partners, has grown into a renowned international shipyard located in the Netherlands and spanning over 16,500 m² with state-of-the-art facilities for top-quality shipbuilding, comprehensive refits, and skilled repairs.
