North Line Yachts originated in 1976 under the name Jachtbouw Zevenhuizen, established by Rients van Sluis and Henk van der Land at the trading estate Zevenhuizen in Franeker. During the seventies, the shipyard primarily focused on constructing yacht wainscoting for various pleasure yachts. Over the years, the family-run business significantly expanded its offerings, and in 2000, Sipko van Sluis assumed leadership of the company.
In 2007, the shipyard ventured into manufacturing its own line of vessels, which came to be known as North-Line Yachts. The remarkable success of the North-Line series prompted the decision to relocate to new premises along the Van Harinxmakanaal in Harlingen in 2012, leading to the official renaming of the company to North-Line Yachts.
