Heesen's 47-meter motor yacht ATINA has sunk following a fire that broke out on the 10th of August. The incident happened while ATINA was anchored in the Gulf of Olbia in Sardinia, Italy.
Footage of the yacht was released where the flames were shown and then proceeded to sink. At the end of the video, the fire brigade and Coast Guard are working on tackling the fire. 16 people were on board and were evacuated safely. No injuries were reported.
Anit pollution barriers (as a precaution to prevent any spills from spreading) were placed and an investigation was started into the cause of the fire.
ATINA was delivered in 2008 by Heesen. The following year she won a Neptune at the World Superyachts Award. She was most recently sold in 2021 for an asking price of €16.250.000.
