Feadship derived its name from the acronym "First Export Association of Dutch Shipbuilders." The group was established in 1949, uniting six shipyards and De Voogt Naval Architects with the common goal of promoting their exceptional products in the American market under the unified brand of Feadship.
Currently there are still two shareholders: Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw, owned by the De Vries family, and Royal Van Lent Shipyard. Superb craftsmanship and high standards of design, engineering and construction. Feadship also offers refit services exclusively for Feadships.
