Damen Yachting

Damen Yachting boasts a rich legacy of shipbuilding in the South of the Netherlands, the heart of Dutch shipbuilding for centuries. Their Vlissingen City yard, formerly the Royal Schelde yard was acquired in 2000, and proudly upholds the tradition of local shipbuilding expertise.

Acquiring Amels in 1991, the Damen family retained the renowned brand name, synonymous with luxury yacht building, high value, quality, and craftsmanship. Over the years, Damen continued to invest in the yacht building business, making it a cornerstone of their iconic shipbuilding group.

Under the leadership of Kommer Damen, the business expanded from a small shipyard with six employees in 1969 to the world's leading specialist shipbuilder with 12,000 employees and 35 shipyards globally. Damen remains a family-owned business, now managed by Rose Damen, a third-generation family shareholder and the Managing Director of Damen Yachting.

Since relocating their Amels yacht building operations to Vlissingen in 2003, Damen established the largest superyacht facility in the Netherlands.

In 2005, they introduced the Amels Limited Editions range, and later, Damen added innovative yachting products, including Yacht Support in 2008 and SeaXplorer luxury expedition yachts in 2015. In 2019, the new Damen Yachting division consolidated the entire yachting portfolio.

Today, Damen Yachting represents a new generation of shipbuilders, with their headquarters in Vlissingen. They continue to shape the future of yacht building with their commitment to excellence and heritage of shipbuilding expertise.
