Holterman Shipyard X-treme 78 Fly BRUTE launched

Holterman Shipyard has launched the second unit in their X78 Fly superyacht series. The 23.9-meter yacht BRUTE will soon be delivered to her "highly experienced owner".

This Holterman was built after a design by Bernd Weel Design. This Dutch studio has adapted the X-Treme 78 Sport's superstructure glazing to accommodate the eponymous flybridge, which is designed with Mediterranean cruising in mind. She is powered by Volvo Penta IPS 1250s, which allow a cruising speed of 20 knots and a maximum speed of 28 knots.

“After Lady Fleur, there was a lot of demand for smaller yachts with the same looks and ethos – clients were in love with the styling and design, and that spawned the Xtreme range,” begins Bernd Weel, founder and principle of Bernd Weel Design, the studio behind the lines of the Xtreme models. “The range quickly grew, and every project had a client involved – there was never a spec build. The X-78 Fly has been no different.”

Her accommodation is across a full-beam owner's cabin, a VIP cabin and 2 guest en suite doubles below. The yacht's design highlight is its "multifunctional and highly sociable upper deck", which is fitted with a wet bar and sofa seating. “It’s all about outdoor living, and more exterior space to complement the huge interior,” Weel enthuses. “That really is the main focus.

The X-78 Fly,” he concludes, “is another perfect example of just what Holterman can do, and her launch is yet another stunning milestone in the yard’s multi-generational history.” - Bernd Weel.
