Short description of the yacht
This Moonen 72 is a unique and spectacular displacement motor yacht, designed by René van der Velden, and built by Moonen shipyards by the naval architecture of Stolk Maremics. Initially delivered to her first owner in 2001, and ten years later, when she changed hands, her new owner decided to make significant refit at the Moonen Shipyard. This refit included a hull respray, interiors, and electronics upgrade, engines and generator refurbish, and much more.
For efficient and comfortable long-range cruising in all weather conditions, this Moonen has a full-bodied, round-bilge steel displacement hull, aluminium superstructure, and is equipped with a Koopnautic SEAROCQ fin stabilizer system. At her most economical speed, 9 knots, she has a cruising range of 1800 nautical miles with a 50 l/hr fuel consumption. Powered by twin Caterpillar diesel engines, she tops at 11 knots; normal cruising will be 10 knots at 2200 rpm. Extensive insulation keeps noise and vibration levels low throughout the yacht.
On the main deck, you find a generous saloon with an open, well-equipped galley and dining area that give access to the wheelhouse by sliding doors and has lots of room for family and friends to gather.From within the wheelhouse, stairs on the port side provide easy access up to the flybridge and down to the accommodations on the lower deck. From the saloon you also will find big sliding doors to the aft deck where you have the opportunity to have your meals al fresco, and you will find easy access by lazy stairs to the swimming platform.
On the lower deck, you can find the owner’s suite amidship at the full width of the vessel, buffered from the machinery space aft by the en-suite head and a large walk-in closet. The VIP cabin is located in the forepeak of the ship, and between the VIP and owners cabin, you can find a twin cabin.
Throughout the yacht, the interior is beautifully finished in cherrywood and offers plenty of headroom and storage. In the lazarette, there’s plenty of room for water toys, all with easy access from the swimming platform. There is even a crew cabin with one berth along with protected access to the engine room.
