Yachts Sold in 2024

Throughout 2024, a total of 114 Dutch-built yachts were sold, with motor yachts accounting for the majority at 78.9%. Specifically, in total 90 motor yachts were sold, whereas the number of sailing yachts sold was 24. By examining yacht sales data per month of 2024, more profound insights into the sales trends of the Dutch-built yacht market throughout the year can be disclosed. As shown above, it is evident that yacht sales reached their peak during the final two months of the year, with a total of 12 yachts sold in both November and December respectively. Contrarily, in January the lowest amount of sales was reported, with only 4 yachts being sold.

To go into more detail, the largest yacht that was sold during 2024 was Oceanco motor yacht ALFA NERO, with an impressive length of 82 meters. This Oceanco Superyacht was sold by auction, however ALFA NERO was not the most expensive yacht that was sold in 2024. Namely, Amels motor yacht NEW SECRET, with a length of 74 meters, was sold with an asking price of more than €40.000.000 more expensive than ALFA NERO. Specifically, NEW SECRET was sold by Burgess, with her buyer represented by Edmiston, for an asking price of €99.000.000. In contrast, one of the smallest and least expensive yachts sold during 2024 was Kok Vinkeveen 18.5 meter motor yacht SHAMROCK. SHAMROCK was asking €249.000, which sums up to approximately 38.6% of her original asking price.

New Listings in 2024

Besides yacht sales, there was also a total of 158 yachts that entered the market in 2024. Looking at the new listings on a monthly basis, it can be found that the maximum number of new listings occurred in September, with the respective number of yachts entering the market being 25. Reversely, in both January and April, the number of new listings was the lowest with 7.

More specifically, the largest and most expensive yacht that entered the market during 2024 was Oceanco motor yacht H3. This Oceanco 105 meter superyacht, featuring awe-inspiring luxurious amenities, and equipment, is now offered for sale with Edmiston with an asking price of €295.000.000. On the other hand, Feadship 19 meter motor yacht HADDOCK, formerly asking €280.000, was the least expensive new listing over 2024. Remarkably, HADDOCK has recently experienced a price increase with De Valk.

Price Changes in 2024

Lastly, examining the number and height of price changes that happened over the past year is also insightful for the Dutch-built yacht market trends during 2024. In March, 29 yachts experienced a price reduction, marking the highest number of price changes in a month over 2024. In contrast, the lowest amount of price changes occurred in December, with just 11 yachts undergoing a price decrease.

The price changes over the past year were divergent in height and percentage of the former asking prices. For instance, during October, Amels 52 meter motor yacht NITA K II has seen a price reduction of 5.9% ($1.400.000) whereas Nordia 30 meter sailing yacht GOOD TIMES has experienced a price reduction of 16.8% (€2.975.000). These price changes illustrate the impact of a percentual price reduction varies significantly depending on the yacht’s original asking price, size, and plentiful other characteristics.
