Van der Graaf 41 meter sailing yacht ELEONORA E has sunk after being hit by a rescue vessel

Built at the Van der Graaf shipyard in Holland and launched in March 2000, sailing yacht ELEONORA E follows in the big schooner racing heritage. Since her launch, she had successfully participated in several classic sailing regattas. With no sacrifice to luxurious standards of comfort, her interior exuded the elegance of the Golden Era of yachting.

ELEONORA E was a precise replica of the 1910 Herreshoff schooner WESTWARD. The historical yacht was arguably one of the most famous and best-known racing schooners of her time. Gathering many trophies throughout her thirty-seven-year career, WESTWARD represented the best in yacht design and workmanship.

In June 2022 the schooner has sunk after being hit in Port Tárraco, Tarragona, Spain by a 60-metre rescue vessel and is now out of operation.
