Situated on Kaag Island, Royal Van Lent yard has roots dating back to 1849. Yacht construction started in earnest eighty years ago when motor and sailing yachts were built out of wood. Royal Van Lent rapidly expanded into the construction of steel and aluminium, and is now solely dedicated to custom-built motoryachts.
Around 300 highly skilled craftsmen work across every discipline of modern superyacht construction, and are responsible for an average of two launchings a year. First-class facilities include two dry docks and two slipways of up to 100m in length. In addition to providing premium quality, Royal Van Lent takes great pride in maintaining a personal relationship with owners. Its waterfront restaurant plays a key part in this approach.
The Amsterdam yard is the second facility operated by Royal Van Lent, which will also continue to operate its Kaag Island yard at full capacity. The two premises will share the same management team and corporate culture, with some 450 skilled employees from across the spectrum of outfitting and refit activities moving between the facilities when required. This fourth Feadship facility in the Netherlands is now going to build and refit Feadships of up to 160 metres in length.
