Today marks a milestone for Vitters Shipyard in Zwartsluis; as the first pile for a new hall has been driven into the ground. This ceremony, led by the company's management, marks the beginning of the construction of a hall with impressive dimensions: 80 meters long, 30 meters wide, and 16 meters high.
The new hall is being built next to Vitters Shipyard's two existing halls, expanding the shipyard's capacity. For years, Vitters Shipyard has noticed that yachts are becoming larger and more complex. An impressive fleet of more than 30 yachts now sails the world's oceans, with some returning to the shipyard for refits or major maintenance.
The hall's construction is expected to be completed in the spring of 2025, after which it will be used for the outfitting of a 68-meter classic sailing yacht. The aluminum structure for this yacht is already being built at the shipyard.
