NEW FOR SALE | March 2024
In March 2024, the Dutch yacht sales market saw the introduction of 14 new yachts for sale, consisting of 11 motor yachts and 3 sailing yachts.
The highest priced and largest Dutch-built yacht amongst the new listings is the 90m motor yacht DAR built by Oceanco and asking €208.000.000.
On the other end of the spectrum, the 18.95m Sichterman motor yacht JUST THE TWO OF US was the shortest new listing with an asking price of €3.050.000. The least expensive yacht is the 20.75m motor yacht BARBAROSSA built by Moonen Yachts with an asking price of €690.000.
The most expensive sailing yacht listed for sale this month is the 24.72m BELLE FONTAINE built by Royal Huisman Shipyard and asking €499.000.
The shipyards with the most new listings this month were Oceanco and Feadship with 2 of their yachts newly listed for sale.
From the 14 Dutch-built yachts that came to the market in March, 5 yachts had a length between 18 and 24 meters, 4 yachts between 24 and 30 meters, 3 yachts between 30 and 50 meters, 1 yacht between 50 and 60 meters, and 1 yacht larger than 70 meters .
When we compare this month to last month’s numbers, we see a decrease of 30% in the number of new listings. Compared to March last year, there is a decrease of 6.7% in yachts entering the market.
SOLD | March 2024
In March 2024, a total of 10 Dutch-built yachts were sold, consisting of 7 motor yachts and 3 sailing yachts. Compared to February we see an increase of 66,7% in the amount of sales.
The largest and most expensive yacht sold was the 67.27 meter Feadship motor yacht DRIZZLE. She was sold after 903 days, 2.5 years, on the market. During that period she had received 2 price increases and her final asking price was 82.9% of its original asking price of €76.000.000.
The shortest and least expensive yacht sold was the 19.8 meter Moonen Yachts motor yacht PETAR K, which had a final asking price of €365.000 and was on the market for 779 days. She first entered the market in January 2021 with an asking price of €470.000. She was later withdrawn from the market in April 2022, and was offered for sale again in December 2022 with an asking price of €495.000. She received 3 price reductions of in total 26.3% before she was sold this month.
The yacht that was offered for sale the longest in March was the 23.01 meter Feadship sailing yacht DE VROUW CHRISTINA. She first entered the market in March 2019 with an initial asking price of $3.450.000. She was soldby auction after 1805 days, almost 5 years, on the market. During her time for sale she received 6 price reductions and her final asking price was just 30.2% of her first asking price.
On average, the yachts sold in March 2024 were on the market for 604 days and still had a value of 80% of their first asking price. Compared to March 2023, we can see an increase of 66,7% in the number of yachts sold.
PRICE CHANGES | March 2024
Last month 29 Dutch-built yacht listings received a price reduction, 23 motor yacht and 6 sailing yachts. Compared to February we see an increase of 20.8% in price changes. Looking back at last year, there was a significant increase of 163.3% in price changes in March 2024.
The highest priced and largest yacht that received a price reduction this month was the 72.8 meter Feadship PREDATOR. The motor yacht is currently asking €69.000.000, after receiving a €10.000.000, or 12.7%, price reduction this month. This is her first price reduction since she entered the market in September 2023.
The largest price reduction this month has been for the 25.94m Witsen & Vis sailing yacht COLUMBUS. She is on the market since November 2023, starting with an asking price of €950.000. After just 121 days on the market, COLUMBUS received a 58.4% price reduction this month and is now asking €395.000.
The largest sailing yacht receiving a price reduction this month was the 47.67m BORKUMRIFF IV, built by Royal Huisman Shipyard. The sailing yacht is currently asking €9.950.000, after receiving a €950.000 price reduction earlier this month. BORKUMRIFF IV has been listed for sale 1544 days, since January 2020. Her current asking price is 56.9% of her initial asking price of €17.500.000.
On average, the yachts had a price change of -14.3% this month and received their first price reduction after 517 days on the market. The yacht with the quickest price reduction was the 36.63m AVANTE V, built by Feadship. AVANTE V received her first 8.3% price reduction just 44 days after entering the market in December 2023 and received her second 10.4% price reduction earlier this month after just 97 days on the market.
YACHTS WITHDRAWN | March 2024
In March 2024 there were 2 yachts withdrawn from the market, 1 motor yacht and 1 sailing yacht.
The yacht that had been available for sale for the longest period was the 18 meter sailing yacht WHITEFLY built by Royal Huisman Shipyard. WHITEFLY was listed for sale since March 2023 with an asking price of €390.000. She was on the market for 372 days, and has received no price reductions.
CURRENTLY FOR SALE | April 2024
On the first of April, the Dutch-built yacht market boasts 334 vessels for sale, of which 247 motor yachts and 87 sailing yachts.
Out of 1171 Dutch-built motor yachts over 18m in our database, 21.1% are currently offered for sale, and out of 417 sailing yachts, 20.9% are currently available for purchase.
Currently one of the largest sailing yachts available for purchase is the 52.73m Amsterdamsche Scheepswerf G. de Vries Lentsch Jr. Yachts FLEURTJE. Her asking price is €8.400.000 and she has been listed for sale since August 2014 with an initial asking price of €9.500.000.
One of the largest motor yachts available on the market is the 83.5 meter Feadship SAVANNAH. This vessel has been listed for sale for 201 days with an asking on request.
At the other end of the spectrum, one of the smallest available yachts is the 18.4 meter motor yacht TOMMY, built by Jongert Yachts. TOMMY is currently being offered for sale with an asking price of €1.250.000. She has been listed for sale since February 2022 and has received 3 price reductions. Her current asking price is 66.7% of her initial asking price of €1.875.000.
This month in numbers
Compared to the previous month, we can see an ongoing trend in the increase in sales activity. The Summer season is fast approaching and although the number of yachts entering the market is decreasing, the amount of yacht sales and price changes keep increasing. This shows that that current yacht owners are eager to also see their yachts being sold before the new season starts.
