NEW FOR SALE | May 2023
In May 2023, the Dutch yacht market saw the introduction of 12 new yachts for sale, consisting of 11 motor yachts and only 1 sailing yacht.
The highest priced and largest yacht amongst the new listings is the 74.5m my LADY E built by Amels and asking €71.500.000.
On the other end of the spectrum, the 19.3m Lowland Yachts motor yacht DUCHESS was the least expensive new listing with an asking price of $559.900, and the shortest addition was the Mulder Shipyard my LAGUNA with 19.2m.
The shipyard with the most new listings this month was once again Feadship, with 3 of their yachts newly listed for sale.
From the 12 Dutch-built yachts that came to the market in May, 5 yachts had a length between 21 and 24 meters and the other 7 measured between 40m and 75m.
When we compare this month to last month’s numbers, we see an increase of 33% in the number of new listings.
SOLD | May 2023
In May 2023, a total of 12 Dutch-built yachts were sold, consisting of 1 sailing yacht and 11 motor yachts. Most of these sales took place in the second half of the month. Compared to April we see almost a doubling in the amount of sales.
The largest yacht sold this month was the 75 meter Feadship my ARROW. It had an asking price of €139.900.000 and remained at this price throughout the 73 days it was for sale. This yacht was the most expensive yacht sold in May 2023, followed by Heesen’s my LUSINE, which had a final asking price of $82.000.000, and was for sale for 246 days.
The shortest and least expensive yacht sold was the 18.05 meter Pacific Shipyards NEREUS, which had an asking price of €395.000 and was on the market for only 85 days.
The only sailing yacht that was sold in May 2023 was the 23.2 meter Jongert Yachts MAGNA MAGIC. Her asking price was €570.000 and she received no price reductions in the 351 days she was on the market.
On average, the yachts sold in May 2023 were on the market for 417 days. The Dutch-built yachts market received a total of €272.524.811 in sales last month. The yachts still had a value of 99% of their first asking price, as only 5 yachts had a price reduction in the time the yachts were listed for sale.
UNDER OFFER | May 2023
There are 8 yachts under offer this month, all motor yachts.
The smallest yacht under offer is the 19.3m Van den Berg Shipyard my MARE-N. The yacht has been offered for sale since February 2022 and had a last asking price of €785.000.
The largest yacht currently under offer is still the 55m Heesen my RELIANCE. RELIANCE has been on the market since October 2022, with an asking price of €54.000.000.
YACHTS WITHDRAWN | May 2023
In May 2023 we see that 4 yachts have been withdrawn from the market, consisting of 1 sailing yacht and 3 motor yachts.
From the yachts that were withdrawn from the market 3 had a length between 19m and 28m. The other yacht was the 75.75 meter Feadship my EBONY SHINE, which has been on the market for 141 days.
The yacht that had been available for the longest period was my ARCA E RARA built by Mulder Shipyard. ARCA E RARA was listed for sale since May 2020 with an initial asking price of €990.000. After 1110 days, a little more than 3 years, on the market and 2 price reductions, ARCA E RARA’s final asking price was set at €790.000, representing a decrease of 20% from its original price.
CURRENTLY FOR SALE | May 2023
On the first of June, the Dutch-built yacht market boasts 283 vessels for sale, of which 205 motor yachts and 78 sailing yachts.
Out of 1113 Dutch-built motor yachts over 18m in our database, 18.4% are currently offered for sale, and out of 401 sailing yachts, 19.5% are currently available for purchase.
Presently the largest sailing yacht available for purchase is still the 86m Oceanco AQUIJO. AQUIJO’s asking price is available on request and she has been listed for sale on the January 10th of this year.
The largest motor yacht available on the market is the towering 91,5 meter Oceanco my TRANQUILITY. This vessel has been for sale for 1.016 days with an asking price of €149.900.000.
At the other end of the spectrum, the smallest available yacht is the 18 meter sy DANUBIO II, built by Jongert Yachts. DANUBIO II is currently being offered with an asking price of €485.000 and has been listed for sale for 1.046 days.
This month in numbers
Compared to the previous month, we can see an increase in the number of yachts entering the market, the amount of price changes and yachts sold. Besides this, there is also a large selection of yachts currently under offer, indicating a potential ongoing increase in sales numbers for June.
These numbers indicate a surge in activity before the start of the season, as individuals show a keen interest in either selling or acquiring a new yacht for the summer. Yachts that have been listed for an extended period are experiencing price reductions, highlighting the owners' desire to sell their yacht before the start of the season.
