NEW FOR SALE | December 2023
In December 2023, the Dutch yacht market saw the introduction of 8 new yachts for sale, consisting of 7 motor yachts and 1 sailing yacht.
The highest priced and largest Dutch-built yacht amongst the new listings is the 38.1m my SEA AXIS built by Heesen and asking $6.250.000.
On the other end of the spectrum, the 19.3m Van den Berg Shipyard motor yacht NADIM was the shortest new listing with an asking price on request. The least expensive yacht is the 26.7m, and only sailing yacht listed for sale this month, BABE RUTH built by Jongert Yachts. BABE RUTH is back on the market after being sold in March this year with an asking price of €2.250.000.
The shipyard with the most new listings this month was Holterman Shipyard with 2 of their yachts newly listed for sale. One Holterman motor yacht that entered the market this month is the 20m new-built L’Impulse with an asking price on request.
From the 8 Dutch-built yachts that came to the market in December, 3 yachts had a length between 18 and 24 meters, 2 yachts between 24 and 30 meters, and 3 yachts between 30 and 50 meters.
When we compare this month to last month’s numbers, we see a decrease of 27.3% in the number of new listings.
SOLD | December 2023
In December 2023, a total of 3 Dutch-built yachts were sold, 1 motor yacht and 2 sailing yachts. Compared to November we see a decrease of 66.7% in the amount of sales.
One of the largest yachts sold this month was the 86 meter Oceanco sy AQUIJO. She was sold after 332 days on the market with an asking price on request.
The least expensive yacht sold was the 21.44 meter Lynx Yachts my NANAN SHADOW, which had a final asking price of $2.500.000 and was on the market for 329 days. During that period she has received 2 price reductions and her final asking price was 83.5% of its original asking price of $2.995.000.
On average, the yachts sold in December 2023 were on the market for 525 days. The longest sale of last month was the 27.56 meter Holland Jachtbouw sy NYIMA. She was on the market for 913 days, just over 2.5 years, with a final asking price of €2.800.000. During that period she has received 1 price increase and her final asking price was 127.3% of its original asking price of €2.200.000.
PRICE CHANGES | December 2023
Last month 7 Dutch-built yacht listings received a price reduction, all motor yachts. Compared to November we see a decrease of 70.8% in price changes.
The highest priced and largest yacht that received a price reduction this month was the 49.3 meter Amels VIBRANCE. The motor yacht is currently asking $21.900.000, after receiving a $3.000.000, or 12%, price reduction this month. This is her third price reduction since she entered the market in March 2021 with an initial asking price of $28.500.000.
The largest price reduction this month has been for the smallest yacht, the 18.05m Mulder Shipyard OYSTER. She is on the market since June this year, starting with an asking price of €1.395.000. After 157 days on the market, OYSTER received a 28.7% price reduction and is now asking €995.000.
On average, the yachts had a price change of -15.1% and received their first price reduction after 274 days on the market. The yacht with the quickest price reduction was the 20m MULLE, built by Van der Valk Shipyard. MULLE received a 14.7% price reduction just 72 days after entering the market in August 2023 and is now asking €339.000.
YACHTS WITHDRAWN | December 2023
In December 2023 there were 4 yachts withdrawn from the market, all motor yachts.
The yacht that had been available for the longest period was the 44 meter my LADY L built by Heesen. LADY L was listed for sale since March 2022 with an asking price of $16.900.000. She was on the market for 637 days, almost 2 years, and has received no price reductions.
CURRENTLY FOR SALE | January 2024
On the first of January, the Dutch-built yacht market boasts 318 vessels for sale, of which 232 motor yachts and 86 sailing yachts. On the first of December there were 317 yachts offered for sale.
Out of 1165 Dutch-built motor yachts over 18m in our database, 19.9% are currently offered for sale, and out of 412 sailing yachts, 20.8% are currently available for purchase.
Presently one of the largest sailing yachts available for purchase is the 52.73m Amsterdamsche Scheepwerf G. de Vries Lentsch Jr. Yachts FLEURTJE. Her asking price is €8.400.000 and she has been listed for sale since August 2014.
One of the largest motor yachts available on the market is the 72.8 meter Feadship PREDATOR. This vessel has been for sale for 117 days with an asking of € 79.000.000.
At the other end of the spectrum, one of the smallest available yachts is the 18 meter my SUNSET, built by Van der Valk Shipyard. SUNSET is currently being offered with an asking price of €785.000 and has been listed for sale since August 2023.
This month in numbers
Compared to the previous month, we can see an ongoing decrease in the number of new listings , alongside a decrease in sales and price reductions. This is expected as the year was drawing to a close, coinciding with the holiday season. There will be an expected rise in sales activity once the new year has started.
