NEW FOR SALE | February 2024
In February 2024, the Dutch yacht sales market saw the introduction of 20 new yachts for sale, consisting of 16 motor yachts and 4 sailing yachts.
The highest priced and largest Dutch-built yacht amongst the new listings is the 74m motor yacht NEW SECRET built by Amels and asking €109.000.000.
On the other end of the spectrum, the 19.8m Linden Jachtbouw motor yacht POBEDA was one of the shortest and least expensive new listings. POBEDA is back on the market after being withdrawn from the market in September last year and has an asking price of €1.250.000.
The most expensive sailing yacht listed for sale this month is the 40m ANTARES built by Royal Huisman Shipyard and asking €11.500.000.
The shipyard with the most new listings this month was Amels with 4 of their yachts newly listed for sale.
From the 20 Dutch-built yachts that came to the market in February, 5 yachts had a length between 18 and 24 meters, 3 yachts between 24 and 30 meters, 5 yachts between 30 and 50 meters, 6 yachts between 50 and 60 meters, and 1 yacht larger than 70 meters .
When we compare this month to last month’s numbers, we see a significant increase of 185% in the number of new listings.
SOLD | February 2024
In February 2024, a total of 6 Dutch-built yachts were sold, all motor yachts. Compared to January we see an increase of 50% in the amount of sales.
The largest yacht sold this month was the 67.15 meter Damen Yachting motor yacht DAPPLE. She was sold after 144 days on the market. During that period she had received no price changes.
The most expensive yacht sold was the 49.98 meter Heesen new-built motor yacht PROJECT JADE. She was sold after 803 days, a little more than 2 years, on the market. During that period she had received 2 price increases and her final asking price was 105% of its original asking price of €39.500.000.
The shortest and least expensive yacht sold was the 19.3 meter Van den Berg Shipyard motor yacht MARE-N, which had a final asking price of €785.000 and was on the market for 741 days. She first entered the market in September 2011 with an asking price of €1.250.000. She was later withdrawn from the market in April 2014, and was offered for sale again in February 2022.
On average, the yachts sold in February 2024 were on the market for 1062 days and still had a value of 98% of their first asking price.
PRICE CHANGES | February 2024
Last month 24 Dutch-built yacht listings received a price reduction, 19 motor yacht and 5 sailing yachts. Compared to January we see an increase of 100% in price changes.
The highest priced and largest yacht that received a price reduction this month was the 60 meter Amels COME TOGETHER. The motor yacht is currently asking €59.950.000, after receiving a €6.000.000, or 9%, price reduction this month. This is her second price reduction since she entered the market in September 2022, and her current asking price is 86.3% of the initial asking price of €69.500.000.
The largest price reduction this month has been for the 18.5m Kok Vinkeveen motor yacht SHAMROCK. She is on the market since August 2021, starting with an asking price of €645.000. After 918 days on the market and 3 earlier price reductions, SHAMROCK received another 24.2% price reduction this month and is now asking €280.000.
The largest sailing yacht receiving a price reduction this month was the 26.7m SEA BREEZE, built by Jongert Yachts. The sailing yacht is currently asking €1.700.000, after receiving a €150.000 price reduction earlier this month. SEA BREEZE has been listed for sale 455 days, since December 2022. Her current asking price is 91.9% of her initial asking price of €1.850.000.
On average, the yachts had a price change of -13.3% and received their first price reduction after 275 days on the market. The yacht with the quickest price reduction was the 36.88m REARDEN STEEL, built by Moonen Yachts. REARDEN STEEL received a 4.8% price reduction just 51 days after entering the market earlier this month and is now asking $9.949.000.
YACHTS WITHDRAWN | February 2024
In February 2024 there were 6 yachts withdrawn from the market, 3 motor yachts and 3 sailing yachts.
The yacht that had been available for sale for the longest period was the 47,42 meter sailing yacht HYPERION built by Royal Huisman Shipyard. HYPERION was listed for sale since September 2017 with an asking price of €12.950.000. She was on the market for 2322 days, a little over 6 years, and has received no price reductions.
CURRENTLY FOR SALE | March 2024
On the first of March, the Dutch-built yacht market boasts 328 vessels for sale, of which 240 motor yachts and 88 sailing yachts.
Out of 1170 Dutch-built motor yachts over 18m in our database, 20.5% are currently offered for sale, and out of 415 sailing yachts, 21.2% are currently available for purchase.
Currently the largest sailing yachts available for purchase is the 56.43m Graafship ATLANTIC III. Her asking price is €12.000.000 and she has been listed for sale since December 2017 with an initial asking price of €16.500.000.
One of the largest motor yachts available on the market is the 80 meter Oceanco AALTO. This vessel has been listed for sale for 239 days with an asking of €79.750.000, which is still 92.7% of her initial asking price.
At the other end of the spectrum, one of the smallest available yachts is the 18 meter motor yacht SUNSET, built by Van der Valk Shipyard. SUNSET is currently being offered for sale with an asking price of €785.000. She has been listed for sale since August 2023.
This month in numbers
Compared to the previous month, we can see a significant increase in sales activity. Apart from the huge rise in the number of yachts entering the market, the amount of yacht sales and price changes also keep increasing. As we are approaching the Summer season and the amount of price changes keeps increasing, we can look ahead to a busy Dutch yacht sales market in the next months.
