The January Dutch yacht sales report

NEW FOR SALE | January 2024

In January 2024, the Dutch yacht sales market saw the introduction of 7 new yachts for sale, consisting of 6 motor yachts and 1 sailing yacht. 

The highest priced and largest Dutch-built yacht amongst the new listings is the 43m motor yacht GO built by Feadship and asking €19.500.000.

On the other end of the spectrum, the 18.6m Jachtwerf Bendie motor yacht PINK ELEPHANT was the least expensive and shortest new listing. PINK ELEPHANT is back on the market after being withdrawn from the market in December last year and has an asking price of €649.000.

The only sailing yacht listed for sale this month is the 27.28m LA JOIE DE MER built by Jongert Yachts and asking €2.995.000.

The shipyard with the most new listings this month was Feadship with 2 of their yachts newly listed for sale. 

From the 7 Dutch-built yachts that came to the market in January, yachts had a length between 18 and 24 meters, yacht between 24 and 30 meters, and yachts between 30 and 50 meters.

When we compare this month to last month’s numbers, we see a decrease of 12.5% in the number of new listings.

SOLD | January 2024

In January 2024, a total of 4 Dutch-built yachts were sold, 3 motor yacht and 1 sailing yacht. Compared to December we see an increase of 25% in the amount of sales.

The largest yacht sold this month was the 66.1 meter Oceanco motor yacht LUNA B (now renamed AHS). She was sold after 1730 days, almost 5 years, on the market. During that period she had received price changes and her final asking price was 71% of its original asking price of €59.500.000.

The least expensive yacht sold was the 22 meter Jachtwerf Bendie motor yacht TEMPORALIS, which had a final asking price of €695.000 and was on the market for 667 days. With only price reduction, her final asking price was 90% of its original asking price of €775.000.

The only sailing yacht sold last month was the 28.33 meter Royal Huisman Shipyard ABEON. She was on the market for 804 days, just over 2 years, with a final asking price of €688.000. During that period she has received 3 price reductions and her final asking price was 49% of its original asking price of €1.400.000.

On average, the yachts sold in January 2024 were on the market for 949 days and still had a value of 73% of their first asking price.

PRICE CHANGES | January 2024

Last month 12 Dutch-built yacht listings received a price reduction, 11 motor yacht and 1 sailing yacht. Compared to December we see an increase of 58.3% in price changes.

The highest priced and largest yacht that received a price reduction this month was the 55 meter Amels PAPA. The motor yacht is currently asking €35.950.000, after receiving a €1.050.000, or 3%, price reduction this month. This is her sixth price reduction since she entered the market in July 2022, and her current asking price is 75% of the initial asking price of €47.950.000.

The largest price reduction this month has been for the 44.2m Feadship motor yacht VALERIA. She is on the market since April 2019, starting with an asking price of €15.000.000. After 1707 days on the market, VALERIA received a 40% price reduction and is now asking €9.000.000.

The only sailing yacht receiving a price reduction this month was the 28.75m BLUE FASCINATION, built by Jongert Yachts. The sailing yacht is currently asking €1.190.000, after receiving a €200.000 price reduction earlier this month. BLUE FASCINATION has been listed for sale 443 days, since November 2022. After receiving 4 price reductions, her current asking price is 79.4% of her initial asking price of €1.499.000.

On average, the yachts had a price change of -13.7% and received their first price reduction after 412 days on the market. The yacht with the quickest price reduction was the 38.1m SEA AXIS, built by Heesen. SEA AXIS received a 5.6% price reduction just 43 days after entering the market in December 2023 and is now asking $5.900.000.

YACHTS WITHDRAWN | January 2024

In January 2024 1 yacht has been withdrawn from the market.

This was the 34 meter motor yacht SOLIS built by Mulder Shipyard. SOLIS was listed for sale since January 2023 with an asking price of €13.900.000. She was on the market for 364 days, and has received no price reductions. 

CURRENTLY FOR SALE | February 2024

On the first of February, the Dutch-built yacht market boasts 318 vessels for sale, of which 232 motor yachts and 86 sailing yachts.

Out of 1166 Dutch-built motor yachts over 18m in our database, 19.9% are currently offered for sale, and out of 413 sailing yachts, 20.8% are currently available for purchase.

Currently one of the largest sailing yachts available for purchase is the 47.42m Royal Huisman Shipyard HYPERION. Her asking price is €12.950.000 and she has been listed for sale since September 2017.

One of the largest motor yachts available on the market is the 83.5 meter Feadship SAVANNAH. This vessel has been listed for sale for 142 days with an asking on request.

At the other end of the spectrum, one of the smallest available yachts is the 18.6 meter motor yacht CASA SEGUNDA, built by Altena Yachting CASA SEGUNDA is currently being offered for sale with an asking price of €689.000, after receiving a €60.000  price reduction this month. She has been listed for sale since April 2023. 

This month in numbers

Compared to the previous month, we can see an increase in sales activity. Apart from the number of new listings, the number of sales and price changes has been increasing. With the start of the new year, we can see that the yacht sales market is picking up again as we are gearing up for the Summer season.
