The November Dutch yacht sales report

NEW FOR SALE | November 2024

In November 2024, the Dutch yacht sales market saw the introduction of 8 new yachts for sale, 7 motor yachts and 1 sailing yacht. 

The highest priced and largest Dutch-built yacht amongst the new listings is the 49.8m motor yacht ROCKET built by Heesen and asking €28.000.000.

On the other end of the spectrum, the 18.25m Claasen Shipyard sailing yacht PERSEVERANCE was the shortest new listing and only sailing yacht with an asking price of €1.100.000. The least expensive yacht entering the market was the 19m Feadship motor yacht HADDOCK re-entering the market after an auction, with a first asking price of €280.000.

The shipyard with the most new listings this month was once again Feadshipwith 2 of their yachts newly listed for sale. 

From the 8 Dutch-built yachts that came to the market in November, yachts had a length between 18 and 24 meters, yachts between 24 and 30 meters, andyachts between 40 and 50 meters.

When we compare this month to last month’s numbers, we see a decrease of 27.3% in the number of new listings. Compared to November last year, there was a same decrease of 27.3% in yachts entering the market.

SOLD | November 2024

In November 2024, a total of 12 Dutch-built yachts were sold, 7 motor yachts and sailing yachts. Compared to October the amount of sales saw an increase of 20%.

The largest and most expensive yacht sold this month was the 70.07m Heesen motor yacht GALACTICA SUPER NOVA (now renamed GAJA), after 1192 days on the market with no price changes.

One of the shortest and least expensive yachts sold in November 2024 was the 18m sailing yacht DANUBIO II built by Jongert Yachts. She was sold after 1593 days on the market with a last asking price of €250.000, which was 64.3% of its original asking price.

The largest sailing yacht sold last month was the 56.43m ATLANTIC III built by Graafship. She was sold after 2512 days on the market with an asking price of €12.000.000, which was 72.7% of its original asking price.

The yacht that was offered for sale the longest in November was the 21.6m Heijsman Stavoren motor yacht POOLSTER. She entered the market in April 2014 with an initial asking price of €1.100.000. She was sold after 3877days, over 10 years, on the market. During her time for sale she received price change and her final asking price was 81.7% of her first asking price. 

On average, the yachts sold in November 2024 were on the market for 1360 days and still had a value of 70.8% of their first asking price. Compared to November 2023, we can see an increase of 33.3% in yachts being sold.

PRICE CHANGES | November 2024

Last month 17 Dutch-built yacht listings received a price reduction, 15 motor yachts and 2 sailing yachts. Compared to October we see a decrease of 22.7% in price changes. Looking back at last year, there was a decrease of 29.2% in price changes in November 2024.

One of the highest priced and largest yachts that received a price reduction this month was the 51.75m Feadship AMANTI. The motor yacht is currently asking $23.800.000, after receiving a $2.000.000, 7.8%, price reduction this month. This is her second price reduction since she re-entered the market in February 2024.

The largest price reduction this month of 11.9% has been for the 22.5m Pacific Shipyards motor yacht LADY ROSE. She is on the market since October 2022, starting with an asking price of €1.080.000 and receiving 3 price changes since.

The sailing yacht receiving the largest price reduction this month was the 26.7m CHARLATAN, built by Jongert Yachts. This sailing yacht is currently asking €1.750.000, after receiving a 10.3% price reduction earlier this month. CHARLATAN has been for sale for 68 days, since September 2024.

On average, the yachts had a price change of -4.6% this month and received their first price reduction after 333 days on the market. The 25.05m motor yacht ANACONDA S, built by Hakvoort Maritiem, has received a total of 4 price changes since re-entering the market in July 2024. She was first offered for sale in April 2003 with a first asking price of $1.950.000. After receiving price reductions, she was withdrawn from the market almost 7 years later. In July 2024 ANACONDA S received her first 12.5% price reduction just 27 days after re-entering the market, and her current asking price is just 47.5%  of her first asking price after she re-entered the market. 

CURRENTLY FOR SALE | December 2024

On the first of December, the Dutch-built yacht market boasts 344 vessels for sale, of which 256 motor yachts and 88 sailing yachts.

Out of 1208 Dutch-built motor yachts over 18m in our database, 21.2% are currently offered for sale, and out of 418 sailing yachts, 21.1% are currently available for purchase.

Currently one of the largest sailing yachts available for purchase is the 52.73m Amsterdamsche Scheepwerf G. de Vries Lentsch Jr. Yachts FLEURTJE. Her asking price is €8.400.000 and she has been listed for sale since August 2014.

One of the largestmotor yachts available on the market is the 90m Oceanco DAR. This vessel has been listed for sale for 254 days with an asking price of €208.000.000.

At the other end of the spectrum, one of the smallest available yachts is the 18.6m motor yacht THIRD LIFE, built by Moonen Yachts. THIRD LIFE is currently being offered for sale with an asking price of €595.000, and has been listed for sale since July 2024.

This month in numbers

Compared to the previous month, we can see a decrease in yachts entering the market and the amount of price changes. The number of sales however have increased compared to last month and last year.
