NEW FOR SALE | September 2024
In September 2024, the Dutch yacht sales market saw the introduction of 25 new yachts for sale, 17 motor yachts and 8 sailing yachts.
The highest priced and largest Dutch-built yacht amongst the new listings is the 65m motor yacht WEDGE TOO built by Feadship and asking €49.500.000.
On the other end of the spectrum, the 18.45m Van den Hoven motor yacht C’EST LA VIE was the shortest new listing with an asking price on request. The least expensive yacht entering the market was the 19.75m Kempers motor yacht WHITE EAGLE with a first asking price of €840.000.
The largest sailing yacht listed for sale this month is the 52.5m ANNE built by Vitters Shipyard and asking €23.000.000.
The shipyard with the most new listings this month was once again Feadship with 6 of their yachts newly listed for sale.
From the 25 Dutch-built yachts that came to the market in September, 6 yachts had a length between 18 and 24 meters, 6 yachts between 24 and 30 meters, 4 yachts between 30 and 40 meters, 6 yachts between 40 and 50 meters, and 3 yachts between 50 and 70 meters.
When we compare this month to last month’s numbers, we see a significant increase of177.8% in the number of new listings. Compared to September last year, there was a slight decrease of 7.4% in yachts entering the market.
SOLD | September 2024
In September 2024, a total of 10 Dutch-built yachts were sold, 6 motor yachts and 4 sailing yachts. Compared to August the amount of sales saw an increase of 42.9%.
The largest and most expensive yacht sold this month was the 62.3m Feadship motor yacht FLAG, after 600 days on the market. During that period she had received 1 price reduction and her final asking price was 92.4% of its original asking price of $46.000.000.
One of the shortest and least expensive yachts sold in September 2024 was the 18.6m motor yacht CASA SEGUNDA built by Altena Yachting. She was sold after 525 days on the market with a last asking price of €589.000, which was 78.6% of its original asking price.
The yacht that was offered for sale the longest in September was the 44m Heesen motor yacht BRAZIL. She entered the market in July 2014 with an initial asking price of €8.850.000. She was sold after 3709 days, just over 10 years, on the market. During her time for sale she received 6 price changes and her final asking price was 61% of her first asking price.
On average, the yachts sold in September 2024 were on the market for 756 days and still had a value of 90.1% of their first asking price. Compared to September 2023, we can see an increase of 66.7% in yachts being sold.
PRICE CHANGES | September 2024
Last month 24 Dutch-built yacht listings received a price reduction, 20 motor yacht and 4 sailing yachts. Compared to August we see an increase of 26.3% in price changes. Looking back at last year, there was a significant increase of 100% in price changes in September 2024.
The highest priced and one of the largest yachts that received a price reduction this month was the 60m Amels MOONSTONE. The motor yacht is currently asking €74.900.000, after receiving a €2.000.000, 2.6%, price reduction this month. This is her first price reduction since she entered the market in February 2024.
The largest price reduction this month of 30.5% has been for the 36.88m Moonen Yachts motor yacht REARDEN STEEL. She is on the market since January 2024, starting with an asking price of $10.450.000. After 266 days on the market, REARDEN STEEL had received 3 price reductions of in total 53.6% and is now asking $4.850.000.
The largest sailing yacht receiving a price reduction this month was the 30.5m IKARON, built by Holland Jachtbouw. This sailing yacht is currently asking €2.650.000, after receiving a 8.6% price reduction earlier this month. IKARON has been for sale for 375 days, since September 2023.
On average, the yachts had a price change of -10% this month and received their first price reduction after 286 days on the market. The 55m motor yacht OLYMPUS, built by Feadship, has received 2 price reductions this month. She received her first 7% price reduction at the beginning of last month, 357 days after entering the market in September 2023. Her second 1.1% price reduction later this month was just 16 days after the earlier price change.
CURRENTLY FOR SALE | October 2024
On the first of October, the Dutch-built yacht market boasts 351 vessels for sale, of which 262 motor yachts and 89 sailing yachts.
Out of 1200 Dutch-built motor yachts over 18m in our database, 21.8% are currently offered for sale, and out of 418 sailing yachts, 21.3% are currently available for purchase.
Currently one of the largest sailing yachts available for purchase is the 52.73m Amsterdamsche Scheepwerf G. de Vries Lentsch Jr. Yachts FLEURTJE. Her asking price is €8.400.000 and she has been listed for sale since August 2014 with an initial asking price of €9.500.000.
One of the largest motor yachts available on the market is the 89m Amels HERE COMES THE SUN. This vessel has been listed for sale for 83 days with an asking price of €199.000.000.
At the other end of the spectrum, one of the smallest available yachts is the 18m motor yacht SUNSET, built by Van der Valk Shipyard. SUNSET is currently being offered for sale with an asking price of €785.000, and has been listed for sale since August 2023.
This month in numbers
Compared to the previous month, we can see an overall increase in sales activity. The number of yachts entering the market has seen a significant increase, and the number of yacht sales and price changes has been increasing as well. Now the Summer and the large yacht shows have ended the sales activity is picking up again, and we will likely see an increase in sales in the next months.
