NEW FOR SALE | December 2024
In December 2024, the Dutch yacht sales market saw the introduction of 10 new yachts for sale, 7 motor yachts and 3 sailing yachts.
The highest priced Dutch-built yacht amongst the new listings is the 34m motor yacht LADY LENE built by Van der Valk Shipyard and asking $17.750.000. The largest yacht listed for sale this month is the 47.67m sailing yacht METEOR built by Royal Huisman and asking €12.500.000
On the other end of the spectrum, the 18.24m Holterman Shipyard motor yacht MENTAL FLOSS was the shortest and least expensive yacht entering the market with a first asking price of €1.195.000. MENTAL FLOSS re-entered the sales market last month, after being withdrawn from the market earlier in 2023.
From the 10 Dutch-built yachts that came to the market in December, 5 yachts had a length between 18 and 24 meters, 3 yachts between 30 and 40 meters, and 2 yachts between 40 and 50 meters.
When we compare this month to last month’s numbers, we see an increase of 25% in the number of new listings. Compared to December last year, there was a same increase of 25% in yachts entering the market.
SOLD | December 2024
In December 2024, a total of 12 Dutch-built yachts were sold, 9 motor yachts and 3 sailing yachts. Compared to November the amount of sales stayed the same.
The largest yacht sold this month was the 50m Amels motor yacht MERCURY. She was sold after re-entering the market in December 2020 after being withdrawn 6 months earlier and received no price changes. The most expensive yacht was the 49.8m Heesen motor yacht COMO (now renamed MADO), after being on the market for just 251 days with an asking price of €24.500.000.
The shortest and least expensive yachts sold in December 2024 was the 18.79m motor yacht MARGARETHA built by Super van Craft. She was sold after 233 days on the market with an asking price of €475.000.
The largest sailing yacht sold last month was the 32.64m RIBELLE built by Vitters Shipyard. She was sold after 486 days on the market with an asking price of €16.500.000.
The yacht that was offered for sale the longest in December was the 26.61m KM Yachtbuilders sailing yacht TULIP. She entered the market in August 2021 with an initial asking price of €3.600.000. She was sold after 1219 days, over 3 years, on the market. During her time for sale she received 3 price reductions and her final asking price was 69.4% of her first asking price.
On average, the yachts sold in December 2024 were on the market for 553 days and still had a value of 95% of their first asking price. Compared to December 2023, we can see an impressive increase of 300% in yachts being sold.
PRICE CHANGES | December 2024
Last month 11 Dutch-built yacht listings received a price reduction, 7 motor yachts and 4 sailing yachts. Compared to November we see a decrease of 35.3% in price changes. Looking back at last year, there was an increase of 57.1% in price changes in December 2024.
The highest priced and largest yachts that received a price reduction this month was the 45m Royal Hakvoort Shipyard AWATEA. The motor yacht is currently asking $19.500.000, after receiving a $2.400.000, 10.9%, price reduction this month. This is her first price reduction since she re-entered the market in March 2024.
The largest price reduction this month has been for the 27.45m Swets Scheepsbouw sailing yacht GIRIZ II. She is on the market since December 2012, starting with an asking price of €1.600.000 and receiving 4 price changes since. After a failed auction in October 2024, she received a 35.9% price reduction.
On average, the yachts had a price change of -10.9% this month and received their first price reduction after 437 days on the market. The 24.46m motor yacht PIK II, built by Millenium Super Yachts, has received a total of 8 price changes since entering the market in February 2022. She received her first 14% price reduction just after 193 days, and after a couple of price reductions and price increases, her current asking price is just 34% of her first asking price of €1.500.000.
CURRENTLY FOR SALE | January 2025
On the first of January, the Dutch-built yacht market boasts 342 vessels for sale, of which 254 motor yachts and 88 sailing yachts.
Out of 1209 Dutch-built motor yachts over 18m in our database, 21% are currently offered for sale, and out of 418 sailing yachts, 21.1% are currently available for purchase.
Currently the largest sailing yachts available for purchase is the 52.5m Vitters Shipyard ANNE. Her asking price is €23.000.000 and she has been listed for sale since September 2024.
One of the largestmotor yachts available on the market is the 105m Oceanco H3. This vessel has been listed for sale for 186 days with an asking price of €295.000.000.
At the other end of the spectrum, one of the smallest available yachts is the 18.32m motor yacht SAUDADE, built by Van Toledo Holland. SAUDADE is currently being offered for sale with an asking price of €695.000, and has been listed for sale since July 2024.
This month in numbers
Compared to the previous month, we can see an increase in yachts entering the market and a stabilization in the number of sales. The amount of price changes however have decreased compared to last month. Compared to 2023, the overall market has seen a significant amount of increase in sales activity, which signifies a hopefully positive trend for 2025.
