NEW FOR SALE | July 2024
In July 2024, the Dutch yacht sales market saw the introduction of 16 new yachts for sale, 13 motor yachts and 3 sailing yachts.
The highest priced and largest Dutch-built yacht amongst the new listings is the 82m motor yacht HERE COMES THE SUN built by Amels and asking €199.000.000.
On the other end of the spectrum, the 18.32m Van Toledo Holland motor yacht SAUDADE was one of the shortest and least expensive new listings with an asking price of €695.000.
The largest sailing yacht listed for sale this month is the 38.8m ATALANTE built by Claasen Shipyards and asking €13.250.000.
The shipyards with the most new listings this month was Feadship with 3 of their yachts newly listed for sale.
From the 16 Dutch-built yachts that came to the market in July, 4 yachts had a length between 18 and 24 meters, 5 yachts between 24 and 30 meters, 3 yachts between 30 and 50 meters, again 3 yachts between 50 and 70 meters, and 1 yacht larger than 70 meters.
When we compare this month to last month’s numbers, we see a decrease of 11.1% in the number of new listings. Compared to July last year, there was also a decrease of 11.1% in yachts entering the market.
SOLD | July 2024
In July 2024, a total of 8 Dutch-built yachts were sold, all motor yachts. Compared to June the amount of sales stayed the same.
The largest yacht sold this month was the 82m Oceanco motor yacht ALFA NERO. She was sold by auction for reportedly $40.000.000. The most expensive yacht sold was the 55m Heesen motor yacht PROJECT VENUS. This new-built yacht was sold after 625 days on the market with an asking price of €52.750.000.
One of the shortest and least expensive yachts sold in July 2024 was the 18.5m motor yacht SHAMROCK built by Kok Vinkeveen. She was sold after 1068 days, almost 3 years, on the market with a last asking price of €249.000. During that period she had received 5 price reductions and her final asking price was just 38.6% of its original asking price.
The yacht that was offered for sale the longest in July was the 21.3m Van der Heijden Yachts motor yacht ELISABETH. She entered the market in September 2015 with an initial asking price of €850.000. She was sold after 3236 days, almost 9 years, on the market. During her time for sale she received 2 price reductions and her final asking price was 76.4% of her first asking price.
On average, the yachts sold in July 2024 were on the market for 973 days and still had a value of 83.3% of their first asking price. Compared to July 2023, we can see a decrease of 11.1% in yachts being sold.
PRICE CHANGES | July 2024
Last month 18 Dutch-built yacht listings received a price reduction, 12 motor yacht and 6 sailing yachts. Compared to June we see a slight increase of 5.9% in price changes. Looking back at last year, there was a significant increase of 350% in price changes in July 2024.
The highest priced and largest yacht that received a price reduction this month was the 49.7m Feadship HERCULES. The motor yacht is currently asking €19.500.000, after receiving a €1.000.000, 4.9%, price reduction this month. This is her first price reduction since she entered the market in February 2024.
The largest price reduction this month of 27.9% has been for the 22m Gebroeders Van Enkhuizen motor yacht FALCON . She is on the market since August 2020, starting with an asking price of €3.400.000. After 1460 days, or 4 year, on the market, FALCON had received 2 price reductions of in total 49.9% and is now asking €1.695.000.
The largest sailing yacht receiving a price reduction this month was the 35.32m MELODY, built by Talsma Shipyard. This sailing yacht is currently asking €13.900.000, after receiving a 6.7% price reduction earlier this month. MELODY has been listed for sale 408 days, since June 2023. Her current asking price is 73.2% of her initial asking price.
On average, the yachts had a price change of -8.7% this month and received their first price reduction after 371 days on the market.
YACHTS WITHDRAWN | July 2024
In July 2024 we see that 5 yachts have been withdrawn from the market, consisting of 4 motor yachts and 1 sailing yacht.
The yachts withdrawn from the market had a length between 21m and 42m.
The yacht that had been available for the longest period was motor yacht POOLSTER built by Heijsman Stavoren. POOLSTER was listed for sale since April 2014 with an initial asking price of €1.100.000. After 3746 days, more than 10 years, on the market and 1 price reduction, POOLSTER’s final asking price was set at €899.000, representing a decrease of 18.3% from its original price.
CURRENTLY FOR SALE | August 2024
On the first of August, the Dutch-built yacht market boasts 341 vessels for sale, of which 255 motor yachts and 86 sailing yachts.
Out of 1188 Dutch-built motor yachts over 18m in our database, 21.5% are currently offered for sale, and out of 418 sailing yachts, 20.6% are currently available for purchase.
Currently the largest sailing yachts available for purchase is the 56.43m Graafship ATLANTIC III. Her asking price is €12.000.000 and she has been listed for sale since December 2017 with an initial asking price of €16.500.000.
The largest motor yachts available on the market is the new-built 118.8m Feadship PROJECT 821. This vessel has been listed for sale for 84 days with an asking price on request.
At the other end of the spectrum, one of the smallest available yachts is the 18m motor yacht SUNSET, built by Van der Valk Shipyard. SUNSET is currently being offered for sale with an asking price of €785.000, and has been listed for sale since August 2023.
This month in numbers
Compared to the previous month, we can see a slight decrease in numbers of yachts entering the market. The amount of price changes saw a slight increase, and the amount of sales stayed the same. In the middle of the Summer season, we can see a stabilization of the sales market, with the sales activity likely picking up again over the next months.
