NEW FOR SALE | April 2024
In April 2024, the Dutch yacht sales market saw the introduction of 7 new yachts for sale, all motor yachts.
The highest priced and largest Dutch-built yacht amongst the new listings is the 57.6m motor yacht W built by Feadship and asking €49.950.000.
On the other end of the spectrum, the 19.2m Doggersbank motor yacht CONSTANT was the shortest new listing with an asking price of $1.395.000. The least expensive yacht is the 22.8m motor yacht FULL CIRCLE built by Lowland Yachts with an asking price of $490.000.
The shipyards with the most new listings this month was Heesen with 2 of their yachts newly listed for sale.
From the 7 Dutch-built yachts that came to the market in April, 2 yachts had a length between 18 and 24 meters, 1 yacht between 24 and 30 meters, 3 yachts between 30 and 50 meters, and 1 yacht larger than 50 meters .
When we compare this month to last month’s numbers, we see a decrease of 50% in the number of new listings. Compared to April last year, there is a decrease of 22.2% in yachts entering the market.
SOLD | April 2024
In April 2024, a total of 9 Dutch-built yachts were sold, consisting of 7 motor yachts and 2 sailing yachts. Compared to March we see a decrease of 10% in the amount of sales.
The largest yacht sold this month was the 80 meter Amels new-built motor yacht PROJECT 8004. She was sold with an asking price on request.
The most expensive yacht sold was the 33.7 meter Royal Hakvoort Shipyard motor yacht ADYTUM. She was sold after 754 days, 2 years, on the market. During that period she had received 1 price reduction and her final asking price was 95.2% of its original asking price of $7.900.000.
The shortest yacht sold in April 2024 was the 19 meter motor yacht ATÉ JA III. She was sold after 239 days on the market with a last asking price of €640.000.
The least expensive yacht sold was the 24 meter Kempers sailing yacht ESMERALDA, which had a final asking price of €395.000 and was on the market for 192 days. She first entered the market in June 2021 with an asking price of €595.000. She was later withdrawn from the market in April 2023, and was offered for sale again in October 2023 with an asking price of €395.000.
The yacht that was offered for sale the longest in April was the 27.3 meter Moonen Yachts motor yacht IMPETUOUS. She first entered the market in March 2021 with an initial asking price of €2.900.000. She was withdrawn from the market in August 2021, and re-entered the market again in December 2021. She was then sold after 863 days, over 2 years, on the market. During her time for sale she received 1 price reduction and her final asking price was 82.6% of her first asking price.
On average, the yachts sold in April 2024 were on the market for 424 days and still had a value of 86.2% of their first asking price. Compared to April 2023, we can see an increase of 28.6% in the number of yachts sold.
PRICE CHANGES | April 2024
Last month 20 Dutch-built yacht listings received a price reduction, 14 motor yacht and 6 sailing yachts. Compared to March we see a decrease of 31% in price changes. Looking back at last year, there was a significant increase of 185.7% in price changes in April 2024.
The highest priced and largest yacht that received a price reduction this month was the 61.5 meter Amels CALYPSO. The motor yacht is currently asking €35.900.000, after receiving a €4.100.000, or 10.3%, price reduction this month. This is her first price reduction since she entered the market in September 2023.
The largest price reduction this month has been for the 36.88 meter Moonen Yachts motor yacht REARDEN STEEL. She is on the market since January 2024, starting with an asking price of $10.450.000. After just 89 days on the market, REARDEN STEEL had received 2 price reduction of in total 32.6% and is now asking $6.975.000.
The largest sailing yacht receiving a price reduction this month was the 29.96 meter AFAET, built by Jongert Yachts. The sailing yacht is currently asking €1.850.000, after receiving a €100.000 price reduction earlier this month. AFAET has been listed for sale 515 days, since December 2022, after being withdrawn from the sales market in September 2021. Her current asking price is 56.9% of her initial asking price of €3.250.000.
On average, the yachts had a price change of -12.5% this month and received their first price reduction after 473 days on the market. The yacht with the quickest price reduction was the 18 meter DANUBIO II, built by Jongert Yachts. DANUBIO II received her first 3.6% price reduction just 7 days after entering the market in July 2020 and received her 8th price reduction of 5.7% this month after 1368 days on the market.
YACHTS WITHDRAWN | April 2024
In April 2024 there were 4 yachts withdrawn from the market, 2 motor yachts and 2 sailing yachts.
The yacht that had been available for sale for the longest period was the 62 meter motor yacht SEA OWL built by Feadship. SEA OWL was listed for sale since April 2020 with an initial asking price of €89.000.000. She was on the market for 1476 days.
CURRENTLY FOR SALE | May 2024
On the first of May, the Dutch-built yacht market boasts 326 vessels for sale, of which 243 motor yachts and 83 sailing yachts.
Out of 1178 Dutch-built motor yachts over 18m in our database, 20.6% are currently offered for sale, and out of 418 sailing yachts, 19.9% are currently available for purchase.
Currently one of the largest sailing yachts available for purchase is the 56.43 meter Graafship ATLANTIC III. Her asking price is €12.000.000 and she has been listed for sale since December 2017 with an initial asking price of €16.500.000.
One of the largestmotor yachts available on the market is the 90 meter Oceanco DAR. This vessel has been listed for sale for 40 days with an asking price of €208.000.000.
At the other end of the spectrum, one of the smallest available yachts is the 18 meter motor yacht SUNSET, built by Van der Valk Shipyard. SUNSET is currently being offered for sale with an asking price of €785.000. She has been listed for sale since August 2023.
This month in numbers
Compared to the previous month, we can see the end of the trend in the increase of sales activity. There has been a decrease in yachts entering the market, yacht sales and price changes. As the Summer season is starting, the activity on the sales market will come to a pause as yacht owners will enjoy their time on board of their yachts.
